With a 1,340cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, the 2021 Hayabusa achieves an even better balance of performance, efficiency and durability. All whilst satisfying Euro 5 emissions standards.

Since establishing the category in 1999, the Hayabusa continues to prove its dominance by delivering some of the highest torque and power figures at road-riding speeds. A symbol of engineering pride and prowess, the 1,340cc engine makes 190PS and 150NM keeping it at the top of a class it created two decades ago!

This next generation is perfectly poised to carry riders into the future, featuring stronger power delivery, nimbler handling and a plethora of the latest electronic systems; optimizing performance and improving control. This package makes the head-turning 2021 Hayabusa a truly breathtaking machine.

Chassis and Handling

Suzuki has worked closely with Bridgestone to develop the BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 tyres, meeting the needs of the new Hayabusa. Boasting improved dry grip, better wet condition performance, and great all-round traction. This helps the new tyre set itself apart from the rest with a new compound yielding both great performance and increased durability.

The tyres aren’t the only huge development to have occurred. At the core of this outstanding chassis is the swingarm and aluminium frame. A proven combination of extruded aluminium sections and castings lend the right amount of suppleness and strength to the overall rigid alloy frame structure. Together, they achieve the 50:50 balance required by a machine that delivers ultimate performance and reaches a nominal top speed of 186mph.

To better connect the chassis and wheels, adjustable KYB inverted cartridge forks have been added, providing 120mm of front wheel travel and feature Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the 43mm inner fork tubes. A fully adjustable KYB link-type rear suspension is also equipped to maximize comfort and straight-line stability. This, in turn, reduces friction and improve reaction to small irregularities in the road surface.

Engine and Braking

With its top speed of 186mph, the Hayabusa uses Brembo’s latest Stylema front brake calipers to bring it to a stop. Featuring a more compact, lighter and carefully sculpted design intended for high-performance motorcycles, these calipers increase airflow around the brake pads to cool them more quickly and deliver an immediate response.

There is also a new engine braking system. It provides control over the engine strength, braking to match the rider’s preference. The higher the setting, the more the system provides the rider with smoother, more controllable behavior by cancelling out the effect of engine braking to suppress rear tyre sliding or skipping when decelerating after releasing the throttle grip or downshifting. Alternatively, this setting can be turned off.

Aerodynamics and Rider Aids

The Hayabusa adopts an advanced new version of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) and a six axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). A complete collection of electronic systems designed to optimize performance characteristics to match the needs of the moment and make the Hayabusa more controllable, predictable and enjoyable. Riders can opt for settings to best suit the current riding conditions, road surfaces and their level of confidence and experience.

Paired with these electrical aids is an ultimate aerodynamic package, which has received extensive wind tunnel testing from Suzuki, full use of the latest Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and years of experience. This has allowed the new Hayabusa to gain one of the best drag coefficients found on any street legal motorcycle; as well as excellent lift values to maximize top speed potential and stability at top speed. By any measure, ultimate performance is what the Hayabusa is all about.
