Friday 1st March saw our showroom doors wide open to welcome a record crowd to what has become our very popular annual ‘Evening With’ event this time around staring racing legends Niall Mackenzie and Neil Hodgson. Both Niall and Neil have won multiple British Championship titles throughout their racing careers with Hodgson also going on to take the World Superbike Championship win in 2003.

Over 200 motorcycle racing fans loaded into our bike dealership to enjoy an evening of entertainment and fun.

As well as being entertained by their tales of racing and answering questions from our audience, Neil and Niall went on to talk about their latest venture ‘Mackenzie Hodgson Insurance’, which has been built on their passion for motorcycling and looking after fellow bikers.

Mackenzie Hodgson specialises in motorcycle insurance and is the brainchild of Neil and Niall who wanted to provide a personalised service for bikers and by bikers. Our audience were also treated to an exclusive showing of the brand new Suzuki Katana prior to its official launch.

The word ‘Katana’ translates to ‘beautiful to gaze upon’ in Japanese and it certainly did attract immense attention all evening.

The event as always was free to attend with a complimentary pie and pea supper and refreshments included. Guests contributed generously to the raffle and auction which featured a number of exclusive prizes including a ‘money can’t buy’ pillion ride with Niall Mackenzie at his home circuit of Knockhill.

A total of over £1400 was raised for Manorlands Sue Ryder Hospice, the company's charity of choice for the last 2 years.

"Our ‘Evening With’ has become an annual event on the Colin Appleyard calendar and seems to go from strength to strength year after year. I’d even go as far as to say that this one was our best yet! It’s great to see so many people in the showroom enjoying themselves and being able to raise a great amount for Manorlands Sue Ryder Hospice is an added bonus."
