The immaculately prepared Colin Appleyard Motorcycles Yamaha YZF-R6 machines have been 1-2 in the standings at most races this season and took 18 out of the 21 leg wins to date.
Jack attacked the weekend in his usual way, going over a second faster than the rest of the grid including his team-mate and main Championship rival Brad Jones in a ‘sketchy conditions Free Practice 1. Later on Friday the duo again went 1-2 in Free Practice 2. He then went on to take pole position with an ultra-fast 1:31.179 lap; 0.6 faster than Rory Skinner, with Brad third. In fact Jack’s qualifying time would have put him on the front row of the World Supersport race here, showing the competitiveness of rider, team and bike.
Today’s Sprint race took a familiar turn as Brad took the early lead before Jack made a strong, calculated, overtake and was never headed to tie up his second consecutive title.
"“It’s amazing and hasn’t really sunk in yet to be honest but this seems every bit as good as last year! It’s nice to get the Championship tied up today, especially looking at tomorrow’s weather forecast.
We never set out to be cautious this weekend, so we attacked every session then managed to get out in front. What a year, so massive thanks to the Integro Yamaha squad and everyone back at Colin Appleyard Motorcycles”"
"“What a fantastic year it’s been with Jack operating at a super high level. When Jack and Brad went to the WSB round here they realised they could go up another level and been riding even harder since. The pair of them have been hitting lap record pace at every race this season and its been great to see Brad being brought on also. For Jack he’s showed his class and I hope he gets on a good Superbike now to prove just how good he is against the best in BSB.”"
